教会の会衆席に生きているフランクを見つけたハティは、花束を介して短いメモを受け取った。彼の指示に従うと決めながらも、式の最中には動けず、卿とともにドラン家へ戻っている。そこで最初に頼ったのは、アメリカ時代から二人を知る侍女アリスだった。
