Holmes accurately describes the route of the goose the little man is seeking and stops a passing four-wheeler. After proposing that they talk in a warm room, he asks the name of the person he is to help. The stranger hesitates for only a moment, glances sideways, and begins to answer.
The man hesitated for an instant.男は一瞬ためらった。
"My name is John Robinson," he answered with a sidelong glance.「ジョン・ロビンソンといいます」と、彼は横目でちらりとこちらを見ながら答えた。
"No, no; the real name," said Holmes sweetly.「いやいや、本当の名前をどうぞ」とホームズは穏やかに言った。
