人ごみを抜けて事務所に入ると、そこには椅子が二脚とテーブルがあるだけだった。座っているのは、ウィルソンよりさらに赤い髪の小柄な男だ。男は応募者を次々に不合格にしていくが、ウィルソンの番になるとドアを閉め、彼の髪をしげしげと眺める。そして飛びつくように手を握り、合格を祝う。
